Donations and endowments
The SONNENFELD FOUNDATION is a charitable institution which serves scientific ends and is registered at the Tax Office for Corporations I (Finanzamt für Körperschaften I) under tax number 27/641/02831. According to article 8 of its charter, it is subject to local supervision by the State of Berlin in line with the provisions of the Berlin Law on Foundations (Berliner Stiftungsgesetz).
Donations are supported by the tax authorities insofar as the amount of the donation will be deducted from your income in accordance with Section 10b of the Income Tax Act (Einkommensteuergesetz), thus saving you in tax.

Endowments
If you are thinking about how to leave your estate (or part of it) in your will, why not consider making a donation to the foundation. If you set up a trust (Treuhandstiftung) as a special fund within the SONNENFELD FOUNDATION, you can build a fitting memorial to your name by having it associated with charitable ends.
